Cristina Lucas creates compositions using pigments, minerals, metal oxides, and raw chemical elements, positioned between painting, sculpture, and geological specimen. She grinds and layers these materials directly onto the surface, allowing chemistry and natural reactions to shape the final form.

What seems minimal at first reveals deeper links between the human body, the earth, and the territories we construct. The materials themselves carry histories of extraction, trade, and environmental impact, giving each work a subtle yet persistent political dimension.
Through these restrained compositions, Lucas transforms raw matter into a reflection on power, systems, and what the world is truly made of.
